BALTIMORE, MD -- LND finally had all their star-studded pieces on the court Sunday night and it’s clear these guys won’t gel overnight.

The fan favorites to knock PTF from the throne got off to a rocky start Sunday in their first game with all their key pieces. 2017 Brunson League MVP Stanton Kidd, Rod Camphor, Isaiah Armwood, Antoine Myers, Nardie Bogues, and Sean Farr were all on suited up together for the first time and it showed.

A lot of 1-on-1 gameplay instead of team basketball was going on in the first half against SB Elite. In the first quarter it didn’t effect them too much as they trailed 26-30 at the end of one, but in the second quarter the struggles of the newly formed star-studded cast was a disaster.

Missed jump shot after missed jump shot by players going 1-on-1 had their offense stagnant while SB Elite continued to click on all cylinders. As LND couldn’t buy a bucket, QJ Peterson and Issac Thornton couldn’t miss! It seems like in the blink of an eye the lead jumped from 4 to 17 (50-33 with 2:19 left in Q2). At the half, SB Elite led LND 52-38.

In the second half, the stars began to shine bright for LND. After Issac Thornton drained yet another 3 and put the lead back to 17 to start the second half, the sleeping giants of LND woke up. A dunk by Sean Farr started a 9-0 LND run that was capped by a Stanton Kidd 3-pointer that cut the deficit (47-55 with 8:10 to play in Q3). Sprinkle in some rim-rattling dunks from Isaiah Armwood and LND only trailed SB Elite by 5 (63-68) as the teams headed to the fourth.

The back and fourth 4th quarter ended with a QJ Peterson bucket in the lane for SB Elite to force OT with the teams tied up at 83-83. As soon as overtime got started, Isaiah “Zeek” Armwood shut the gym down with the poster dunk of the summer!

LND (2-1) completed the comeback and pulled out the 94-89 OT victory over SB Elite (1-2). Surely SB Elite is hoping they’ll have a chance to run it back in the playoffs, and we surely wouldn’t mind seeing this matchup again ourselves.
